"The body remembers, the bones remember, the joints remember, even the little finger remembers."
- Clarissa Pinkola Estes
EMDR, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a comprehensive therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro. It focuses on changing lasting symptoms—including emotions, thoughts, and behaviors—that stem from adverse experiences.
EMDR has substantial clinical research supporting its effectiveness and can help individuals find relief from trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, loss, and more. As a memory-based therapy, EMDR focuses on how memories are stored in the nervous system. This allows the brain to resume its natural healing process and reprocess memories in a way that reduces their emotional charge.
In my practice, I use the Somatic and Attachment Focused (S.A.F.E.) EMDR approach. This means that we will also address how trauma manifests in the body and explore any attachment wounds.
As an EMDR certified therapist through EMDRIA, the governing body for EMDR, I uphold the highest standards of care for my clients. This certification demonstrates my commitment to competency, ethical practice, and excellence in EMDR therapy.

My rate for EMDR therapy is $125 for both the initial evaluation and each subsequent session. While I generally recommend weekly EMDR sessions, I understand that some clients may benefit from more frequent sessions to support their healing process. I accept a limited number of insurance plans. To view the list of accepted plans, please click Grow Therapy or Rula, or contact your health insurance provider directly.
