Do you accept insurance?
I am a private pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a monthly superbill for out-of-network insurance submission. I highly recommend contacting your insurance company directly to verify your out-of-network mental health benefits for online therapy in California.
What is a Good Faith Estimate (GFE)?
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the total expected cost of your non-emergency medical care, including psychotherapy sessions. You will receive a clear, written estimate outlining my private pay fees before we begin our work together.
Do you offer virtual therapy?
Yes, my practice is entirely telehealth-based. I provide virtual individual therapy, online couples counseling, and EMDR therapy to clients located anywhere across the state of California. All sessions are securely conducted via a confidential, HIPAA-compliant platform.
What should I expect during our first therapy session?
Our first meeting is an initial evaluation where we will gently explore your history, current challenges, and what you hope to gain from our time together. It is a collaborative space to ensure we are a good fit and to start mapping out your personalized trauma-informed healing goals.
For couples therapy, do both partners need to attend every session?
Yes. Online couples therapy focuses entirely on the relational dynamic between you and your partner. To build safety, strengthen communication, and practice Gottman Method strategies effectively, it is essential that both partners are present for our scheduled sessions together.
Can therapy help if I/we are considering separation or divorce?
Absolutely. Couples counseling provides a structured, supportive space to navigate difficult transitions with clarity and respect. Whether the goal is to repair the bond or consciously explore separation, we focus on reducing conflict, processing emotional distress, and fostering mutual understanding.
Can EMDR therapy be used in couples therapy?
Yes. When past trauma or attachment wounds show up as reactive patterns in a relationship, EMDR therapy can be integrated into our work. This helps partners process difficult memories safely, reducing relational tension and building a more resilient, securely connected partnership.
